Overview

We are looking for a Telecommunication technician, with a can-do attitude and a positive work ethic, providing reliable and high-quality services to the customers within the expected time frames. This work will primarily be taking place in Invercargill but at times when required you must be prepared to travel or relocate anywhere in south Island.

In this job you will  be undertaking the following tasks:

Planning, designing, and troubleshooting local and wide area network infrastructure, including Wireless Routers, Landline telephones.
Testing and certifying Fibre optic cables using specialized equipment (Splicer, OTDR Testers, and Fibre Tracers).
Installing Internal and external Fibre cabling for SDUs, MDUs and Small businesses.
Physically install fibre optic, Cat 6e Structured Cable Distribution Systems
Programming and testing RGW (Residential Gate Way or Router)

working with chorus network terminals like FFP, FAT,IFDB and Cabinet.

The minimum requirements for this job are as follows:

IT or Telecommunications qualification NZ
Full class 1 drivers license

Applicant should have  minimum 1 year experience, chorus network knowledge and must be able to work unsupervised.

Applicant must be prepared to do required training and Induction.

Applicants should have WTC1, WTC3, First Aid and Level 1 STMS certificates.

A successful candidate will be prepared to carry out the number of duties and needs with the ability to work in a pressured and fast-paced environment.
